Academic Qualifications
🔹Relevant business degree (BA LLB preferred), preferably with a post-graduate degree; must be an admitted attorney or advocate (member of the bar)

Description:
🔹To take responsibility, with Heads of Department, for the effective and efficient management of the legal department, the provision of legal advisory services and opinions and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.
🔹The role also encompasses supporting group in respect of the management of specialised legal matters and projects with group-wide significance and providing strategic direction to Compliance Officers in the management of legal risk.

Technical Pre-requisite:

🔹Proven track-record in providing effective legal counsel and developing contracts that mitigate risks and penalties
🔹Expert contract negotiation, preparation and administration skills
🔹Able to identify and mitigate legal risks across in-country business units
🔹Understanding of in-country regulatory requirements
🔹Knowledge of the full MS Office suite

Experience
🔹5+ years’ post-qualification legal experience in commercial litigation, preferably in a banking environment

Education

Experience

• Minimum 7 years’ experience of both trading FX and money markets

Job Purpose: 

• Management of daily money desk operations and accounting for investment securities, wholesale liabilities, deal in currencies within the limits allotted by the bank and contribute to achieving set targets.
• Principal Accountabilities (include but not limited to the following)
• Target achievement
• Generating profit and revenue through the execution of client orders as well as through the hedging of client positions; 
• Contact banks and brokers daily to collect interest rates, and investing accordingly to maximize the return of the portfolio.
• Treasury Deals
• Improving efficiencies on the desk.
• Quote foreign currency buying and selling rates to clients.
• Ensure that trading desk is complete, on time and maintained while making sure that market and execution risk is dealt with according to policies. 
• Servicing of Corporate Treasury sales pricing / structuring requirements and risk management of resultant positions.
