Vacancy: Payroll Support Clerk


Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced , dynamic , self-motivated and task oriented individuals , to fill the above post within the Group Human Resources Division of a major Financial Services Group.

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll Administration,the successful incumbent will be responsible for clerical duties pertaining to payroll Administration

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities
Calling for and receiving payroll inputs from the various subsidiaries/ departments/branches and capturing same on the payroll
Checking the correctness of all input and capturing same
Dispatching payslips and printing the necessary payroll reports
Generating payroll Journal entries
Ensuring that all payroll related payments are processed by the due date
Reconciling Medical Aid, Pension Fund, NSSA Insurance etc
Processing ex-staff benefits
Processing the Division’s other ad hoc payments
Attending to payroll related queries
Maintaining files for payroll records
Preparing returns and statutory payments for processing

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
6 O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics, all obtained within no more than two sittings, passed with a symbol B or Better and at least 2 A Level passes
Studying towards acquisition of a suitable professional qualification eg Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Payroll Administration
Sound knowledge of statutory regulations regarding Payments and Returns
At least two years’ experience using a computerised payroll processing system preferably Paywell Payroll System
Must be attentive to detail
Must be highly confidential
Must have good organising and time management skills
Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to relate at all levels
Must be results oriented, able to handle pressure and meet strit deadlines
A good team player who resonates with energy

LAB MANAGER

Accountabilities of the role
Business growth through quality service
Assessing the result of QA/QC audits and implement improvements as required
Ensuring that the quality of analytical data produced is maintained at a level that meets or exceeds targets
Optimising turnaround time for samples ensuring accurate and timely results are achieved and maintained
Manage all site analytical instrumentation, practices and operations
Supervise assay lab technicians
Review and assign assay lab priorities and resources as required
Oversee hundreds of daily determinations applying extensive fire assaying technique
Oversee preparation and analysis of geology samples from the mine samples, drill core samples, stockpiles
Oversee preparation and analysis of process milling samples taken from crushing, grinding, adsorption and electro winning
Schedule all needed maintenance to resolve issues

Qualification and Experience
A tertiary qualification in Science (preferably Chemistry/ Met Assaying)
Should possess sound gold experience in assaying
Minimum 10years laboratory experience with at least 3years in a managerial role
Prior experience in team management essential
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Should have knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

Reporting to the Metallurgical Manager, the Lab Manager will be responsible for the management and operation of all aspects related to the site analytical laboratory

Vacancy: WACDEP Project Manager


The Zimbabwe Country Water Partnership, under the auspices of the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) is looking for a Project Manager with at least 7years working experience in water and related sectors (agriculture, environment, natural resources, and/or land management, development studies and climate) with an advanced degree in a relevant area and regional experience.

The Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) is an African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) initiative being implemented by the Global Water Partnership  to support the integration of water security and climate change adaptation into development planning processes and develop financing and investment strategies in eight African countries and five transboundary river basins/ aquifer systems all over the continent.

Reporting to the WACDEP National Co-ordinator in the Ministry of Water Resources Development and Management, as a Project Manager you will support the implementation of WACDEP activities in Zimbabwe. This is a great opening for a proactive Project Manager keen to work on interesting and challenging water security and climate resilient projects relevant to Zimbabwe.

Capital Projects Accountant (Ref: ZPCH002/03/13)


The Position
Reporting to the Finance Director the key purpose of this position is to maintain accurate cash flow data both current and forecasted as compared to projected cash flow assumed in the financial model.

Key Performance Areas
Creates project accounts in the accounting system
Maintains project related records including contracts and change orders
Authorises access to project accounts and transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts
Reviews and approves supplier invoices and time sheets for work related to a project
Reviews account totals related to project assets and expenses
Investigates project variances and submit variance reports to managements
Reports to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
Closes out project accounts upon project completion
Creates and submit government reports and tax returns related to projects
Compiles information for internal and external auditors , as required

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Accounting or related field plus 6 years relevant experience in Cost Accounting and Project Accounting
OR
Higher National Diploma in Accountancy plus 8years relevant experience in  Cost Accounting and Project Accounting
Substantial progress made in attaining a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIS, CIMA
The candidate should have strong computer skills

Section Head Purchasing ( Ref ZPCH 001/03/13)

The Position 
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key position at Hwange Power Station. The main purpose of this job is to execute full purchasing functions  and ensure that material of the quantity and quality is procured at minimum cost.

Key Perfomance Areas
Implements guidelines for cost effective procurement for the station
Reviews suppliers’ list and recommends new suppliers with favourable terms of trade and capacity to deliver
Guides the station management on the appropriate procurement strategy as well as to sensitize the system on processing the relevant documentation on time.
Ensures continuous inflow of requirements in liason with the station’s stores section in a cost effective manner
Assists the station’s project appointed managers to ensure projects are executed on time to avoid overruns
Reviews and recommends changes in processes and procurement procedures to plug loopholes ensuring the non-exposure of the procurement system

Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Purchasing or equivalent plus 8years relevant  experience
Or
Higher National Diploma in purchasing plus 10years relevant experience
Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
