Vacancy: Finance Officer

A fast growing National NGO Headquartered in Harare, with a Regional Office in Bulawayo is seeking the services of a highly qualified and experienced Finance Officer. The position is a 12 months fixed contract with room for renewal subject to the availability of funding/and performance.

The Incumbent will be directly responsible to the Executive Director. The successful candidate will inter-alia be responsible for the following:

Job specification
- Preparing monthly trial balance and reconciliations
- Maintain computerised accounting system for the management of programme expenditures
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly management reports
- Ensures timeous payment of creditors
- Supports Administrative activities in relation to organizational resources management
- Ensures compliance with internal control system requirements
- Prepares annual programmes budget
- Supervises subordinates and manages their performance

Qualifications and experience
- Possess a degree in Accounting/Business Studies
- At least studying towards an Accounting professional qualification eg ACCA, CIMA, CA
- At least 2 year experience in a similar position
- Highly computer literate with proven relevant experience in accounting software packages (Pastel)
- Experience of working with a non profitable organization is an added advantage
- Clean Class 4 Driver's Licence

-    Implement environmental education and public awareness especially on waste management and recycling
-    Engage the media on environmental issues in Zimbabwe, particularly waste management and recycling
-    Facilitate training on waste management and clean technologies in business, local authorities, schools and communities
-    Support local authorities, business and schools to develop waste management plans
-    Constant update of funders on progress on project implementation and output

Qualifications and relevant work experience
-    Degree in Environmental Science or related qualification
-    3 years relevant work experience
-    Class 4 Driver's license. Person Specifications
-    Strong interpersonal skills
-    Strong communication skills.

Vacancy: Chief Executive Officer




Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Development Trust (ZADT). The CEO will be the most senior executive role within the Trust.

Accountabilities

Operations, Strategy and Finance
-    Provides executive oversight of all ZADT activities, manages the day-to-day operations, and assures a smooth-functioning and efficient Trust
-    Ensures program quality and organisational stability through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems, procedures, and regular evaluation
-    Establishes a fully functional secretariat to manage the day-to-day operations of the Trust
-    Clearly demonstrated ability and leadership to formulate and implement strategy
-    Strategic and future orientation and the ability to transform the Trust into a key player in the Agri-business

Business development
-    Helps guide and enable the Board, its fund development committee(s) and its individual Board members to participate actively in the fund development process
-    Helps the Board and its development committee design, implement and monitor viable fundraising plans, policies and procedures
-    Participates actively in identifying, cultivating and soliciting donor prospects

People management
-    Ensures a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and assures process for selecting, development, motivating and evaluating staff
-    Ensures continuity, change management, business process and transition
-    Influencing and enabling others to work towards common goals, using management information systems to highlight priority areas and ensure planned expenditure delivering exceptional customer outcomes
-    Addresses the impact of attitude and action on the Trust and its clients
-    Consistently displays integrity, model behaviour, develops people, and builds teams
-    Specifies accountability for management, staff and evaluates performance regularly

Qualifications and experience
-    A professional or postgraduate qualification such as MBA, MBL, ACCA CIMA, CIS, etc
-    An honours degree in agriculture, agricultural economics or business degree with experience in or working with agribusiness or equivalent from a recognized university is a clear advantage
-    Minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience in agribusiness and/or fund management or corporate finance/banking of which five years should have been at a senior management level
-    Critical competencies in corporate governance principles and information systems
-    Well networked with appreciation for SME, public and private sector businesses
