Vacancy: Driver
Abt Associates Inc, currently implements USAID/PMI-funded Africa Indoor Residual Spraying (AIRS) Project, which seeks to reduce the burden of malaria in 14 African countries through cost-effective implementation of Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS).
The Africa IRS Project is currently seeking qualified candidates for the project’s operations in Zimbabwe. Brief descriptions and qualification requirements for open positions are listed below. All positions are based in Harare.
Driver
Drives AIRS Zimbabwe staff to meetings in Harare and to various project sites throughout the country. Maintains project vehicle. Assist the project to deliver and collect mail. Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification requirements
The incumbent should have an Ordinary Level certificate with English Language; defensive driver’s licence; at least eight years of driving experience and should be at least 35 years old. Experience with International-funded projects highly preferred.

Accountant
Assist the AIRS Zimbabwe Finance and Administration Manager to support the accounting and financial operations of the project. The Accountant will complete daily accounting services including entering financial data into the project’s accounting software. Lead the process to gain quotes for procuring all PPEs and other project-related goods and services to be purchased in Zimbabwe. Supervise petty cash management.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, CIS and CIMA certification, and at least three years of professional experience in donor funded projects
- Experience with USAID-funded projects highly preferred

Assist AIRS Zimbabwe Environmental Control Officer (ECO) in the planning and implementation of AIRS Zimbabwe’s technical assistance regarding environmental compliance for IRS activities. The Environmental Compliance Assistant will work extensively with appropriate counterparts at the NMCP and provincial and district environmental health offices. The Environmental Compliance Assistant will complete a variety of activities ranging from leading various environment trainings concerning IRS, monitoring environmental health and safety issues during IRS campaign, and working with the NMCP to improve environmental efficiency of the national IRS program
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or Environmental Health, and at least three years of professional experience in environmental health, including insecticide use and management
- Strong abilities in report writing, quantitative and data analysis and experience working on international donor projects are highly desirable
