SI Research and Training Institute, Inc. is a member of the Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PSCM), implementing the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) contract for the U.S, Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. SCMS will strengthen or establish secure, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable supply chains capable of meeting the care and treatment needs of people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. The SCMS Project is recruiting for a Training Advisor based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Primary Responsibility:
The Training Advisor will provide key performance improvement support to the overall technical assistance plan in support of MOHCW and its partners.
In addition to Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project activities, the Training Advisor will oversee the training activities of the co-located and managed USAID/ DELIVER PROJECT.
Specific Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Development:
- Design national training strategies, including roll out plans, OJT systems and supervisory systems.
- Develop and update detailed training curricula for training of trainers and supply chain management workshops, including participant support material.
- Co-ordinate closely with the Technical Advisors to ensure that appropriate curricula supports all technical activities.
Implementation:
- Lead the development of detailed job aids and SOP manuals for the various logistics systems.
- Travel throughout the country to supervise the implementation and ensure overall quality of all project training activities, including preparation and post-training follow up.
- Facilitate supply chain management and training of trainer's workshops, and other performance improvement interventions, as needed.
Management:
- Directly supervise the Training Administrator to ensure that all trainings are properly planned for, supported, and documented.
- Ensure an up-to-date training calendar and database is maintained of all key stakeholders and participants.
- Identify potential trainers for roll out of national training strategies.
- Co-ordinate with the Administration and Finance Team to ensure that there is sufficient funding and accountability for all training activities.
- Participate in overall DELIVER and SCMS strategy development, including budgeting and work planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Country Director or Country Director.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in adult education, human resources development or related field.
- Possession of a master's degree is an advantage
- Extensive experience in adult performance improvement program design and delivery, including training of trainers, administration, implementation, SOP and curriculum development. .
- Able to travel extensively in country to support training objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
- Ability to prepare and conduct presentations and conduct stand-up trainings.
- Ability to manage implementation of projects and work independently.
- Ability to both manage teams and contribute productively as a team member.
- Proficiency in common computer packages (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) relevant to the work.
- Experience working with the Government of Zimbabwe and other NGOs preferred.
- Previous work experience with USAI D-funded projects preferred.
- Experience working with health professionals preferred.
- Experience in supply chain management and/or public health commodities management preferred.
Supervision and Reporting:
*The Training Advisor will work under the guidance of the Deputy Country Director, Public Health, who is his/her direct supervisor.
*The Training Advisor will supervise the Training Administrator
