Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above position that has arisen in the FMCG division. Based in Harare, the successful candidate will report to the Managing Executive - FMCG Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will:
- Manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging and spares.
- Liaise with the delivery agent to ensure smooth importation of raw materials, packaging and spares clearance of imported raw materials in liaison with clearing agents.
- Manage key raw materials stocks movements and generate management information reports.
- Maintain stocks at optimum levels at all times to avoid overstocking / stocking out. Ensure most competitive inbound logistical costs for all raws / packaging.
- Manage / mentor subordinates.
Astute trader mentality a must.
- Min 3 years' hands on experience in a Procurement and Logistics role.
- In depth knowledge of customs and clearance statutes and procedures.
- Solid experience in maintaining supplier relationships.
- Should demonstrate awareness of current issues [supply, price movements] in relevant product categories regionally and globally.
- A relevant qualification in Procurement and/or Purchasing and supply will be an added advantage
