1. FACULTY OF SCIENCE EDUCATION


1.1 Department of Education

Qualifications:

Candidates must be holders of a relevant Masters Degree and a teaching qualification. A PhD in the relevant area is an added advantage. 1.2 Department of Peace and Governance


1.2.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor• Part Time (4 Posts)


Qualifications:

Candidates must be holders of a Masters Degree in Peace and Governance. International Relations, Public Administration or any relevant Masters Degree from a recognized university. A PhD will be an added advantage. Candidates must be able to teach Citizenship and Conflict Transformation, Peace and Governance courses.


2.1 Department of Computer Science


2.1.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor -Part -Time (10 Posts)


Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent with a minimum Degree Class of 2.1. Teaching experience at a tertiary level will be an added advantage.


2.2 Department of Chemistry


2.2.1 Part Time Lecturers to Teach Diploma Courses (4 Posts)


Candidates must have a minimum of a Honours Degree in Chemistry with a minimum Degree class of 2.1. A teaching qualification and tertiary teaching experience will be added advantages.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach any two of the following courses: General Chemistry; Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Transport Metal Chemistry, Principles of Environmental Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Chemistry Practicals.


2.2.2 Part Time Lecturers• Organic Chemistry (2 posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a MSc. in Organic Chemistry and must be able to teach Organic Spectroscopy, Organic Synthesis and Carbohydrate Chemistry at undergraduate level.

2.2.3 Part Time Lecturers - Physical Chemistry (2 posts)

Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a MSc. in Physical Chemistry and must be able to teach Physical Chemistry courses at undergraduate level.


2.3 Department of Biological Sciences


2.3.1 Part Time Lecturers to Teach Diploma Courses (15 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must have a Honours Degree in Biological Sciences with a Degree class of 2.1. A teaching qualification and tertiary teaching experience will be an added advantage. The successful candidates. will be expected to teach any two of the following courses: Cell Biology, Biological Molecules and Transport Systems


2.3.2 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (Part Time) - Applied Microbiology/Microbiology (3 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a Masters Degree in Applied Microbiology/Microbiology or related field. A PhD will be an added advantage. The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in General Microbiology, Bacteriology, Mycology and Virology. Applicants will also be expected to supervise students' projects. University experience will be an added advantage.


2.3.3 Part Time Lecturers - Zoology (3 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum qualification of a Masters Degree in Zoology/ Vertebrate biology/ or related field. A PhD will be an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Vertebrate Biology, . Animal Physiology and Invertebrate Biology. Applicants will also be expected to supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects. Applicants will also be expected to carry out research in areas of their specialisation. University experience will be an added advantage.


2.3.4 Part Time Lecturers - Biotechnology (3 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum qualification of a Masters Degree in Biotechnology or equivalent. A PhD will be an added advantage. The successful applicants will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Biotechnology and other Biotechnology related courses. University teaching experience will be an added advantage.


2.3.5 Part Time Lecturers-Botany (3 Posts)

Candidates must have a minimum qualification of a Masters Degree in Botany/Plant Systematics or a related field. The successful applicants will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in Diversity of Life 1 and Plant Physiology. University teaching experience will be an added advantage.


2.4 Department of Health Sciences


2.4.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor - Part Time (7 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must hold at least a Masters Degree in a health related profession preferably, Health     _
Promotion, Public Health and Nursing. Candidates must have a current Practicing Certificate.
Applicants must be able to teach HIV and AIDS Education and Introduction to Health Education
courses


2.5 Department of Geography


2.5.1 Part Time Lecturers to Teach Diploma Courses (4 Posts))


Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Geography. A teaching qualification and tertiary teaching experience are added advantages. Applicants must be able to teach any two of the following courses: Aspects of the Physical Environment, Geomorphology, Settlement Geography, Agricultural Geography and Economic Geography.


2.5.2 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor• Part Time (6 posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a MSc. in Geography/ MSc. Education Geography, MSc. Natural Resource Management and Environmental Sustainability.

Candidates must be able to teach any two of the following courses: Environmental Geomorphology, Urban Studies, Geographical Techniques, Agricultural Geography, Biogeography, Regional Development, Population Studies, Introduction to Human Geography, Aspects of Social Geography and Aspects of Physical Geography at undergraduate level. A PhD will be an added advantage.


2.6 Department of Physics and Mathematics

Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Physics/Physics Education with a minimum Degree c1assof2.1. A Masters Degree in Physics will bean added advantage
Candidates must be able to teach any two ofthe following courses: Introductory to Mechanics, Thermal
Physics, Modern Physics, Optics and Wave Motion     .


2.6.2 Mathematics - Part Time Lecturers to Teach Diploma Courses (10 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Mathematics/Mathematics Education with a minimum Degree class of 2.1. A Masters Degree in Mathematics will be an added advantage.

Candidates must be able to teach any two ofthe following courses: Pure Mathematics, Calculus, Linear Mathematics, Classical Dynamics, Vector Methods and Electromagnetism, Introductory Electricity and Magnetism


2.6.3 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor - Part Time Physics• Undergraduate Programme (20 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders ofaBachelor of Science Honours Degree in Physics/Physics Education, at least an MScJMScED/Med inan aspect of Physics. A PhD will be an added advantage.

Candidates must be able to teach any two of the following courses: Mechanics and Oscillation, ThefTl1al Physics and Wave Motion, Quantum Physics I, Biophysics, Thermodynamics, Electronics, Vector Methbdsand Electromagnetism.


2.6.4 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor - Part Time Mathematics - Undergraduate Programme (25 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Mathematics/Mathematics Education. At least an MScJMScED/MEd in an aspect of Mathematics. A PhD will be an added advantage.

Candidates must be able to teach any two of the following courses: Pure Mathematics, Linear Mathematics, Discourse and Structures, Optimization, Fourier Series and POEs and Perturbation Theory


2.7 Department of Sports Academy


2.7.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a MSc Degree in Physical Education, Sports Administration, Sports Coaching Science or any sport related field and at least 3 years experience at tertiary institutions. A PhD in sport related field will be an added advantage. The candidate will teach Sports Management and Sport Science courses, which include Anatomy and Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports Medicine, Principles of Nutrition and Metabolism, Physiology of Exercise and Olympism among others. The candidate is also expected to impart practical skills in advanced methods of sports training, administration, supervise student research projects and initiate research and income generating activities in the department.


3. FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE


3.1 Department Qf AllimalScienCe


3.1.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor - Part Time (2 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a 6achelor Of Science Honours Degree in Agricultural Science specializing in Animal. Science or Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Animal science, a masters/MPhil in Animal science. Candidates ""ittla PhD in Animal Science or University teaching experience will be an added advantage.

Candidates must be able to teach Animal science courses. which include: Animal Health and Agricultural Biochemistry, production of Beef and Small Ruminants, Production of Monogastric Animals.


3.2 Department of Environmental Science


3.2.1 Teaching Assistant - Pollution Science/Safety, Health and Environmental Management (1 Post)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a degree in Pollution Science or Environmental Health and Safety or related field with a 2.1 grade or better. Possession of SHATCOR I or II or OSHEMAC I and II will be added advantages.

The successful candidate is expected to assist with marking and conducting tutorials and praticals for g undergraduate courses and to participate in University activities.

NB: PART TIME LECTURERS WILL BE DEPLOYED TO TEACH VODL AND BLOCK RELEASE PROGRAMMES DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.



4. FACULTY OF COMMERCE


4.1 Technician (1 Post)


Qualifications

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 '0' levels including English Language, Mathematics and ~:::> Science plus a Diploma in Computer Studies or Electronic Technology.

Duties and Responsibilities

Superintending over Faculty equipments installations and other technical services, assisting in Faculty presentations! workshops! seminars, maintaining inventories of the distribution and movement of equipment in the department, advising on selection of procurement of teaching and learning equipment, ensuring that equipment is maintained and kept in sound working conditions at all times, receiving, recording and documenting instructions on all technical service required for teaching, publication and research by the members and assisting in technical work for all departments in the Faculty.


4.2 Secretary (1 Post)


Qualifications

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 "0" levels including English Language, 50 words per minute typing, Diploma in Office Management or Secretarial Studies or equivalent from recognized institutions, 80 words per minute Shorthand/ Dictaphone equivalent, at least 1 year post qualification working experience. A clean class four Driver's Licence is an added advantage.


4.3 Department of Financial Intelligence & Security Studies/Police and Security Studies


4.3.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a Masters degree in Criminal Law, Criminology or and other relevant post graduate study related to these specialized areas. Candidates must have at least three years post qualification teaching experience at a tertiary institution or five years professional practicing experience in the fields of Law or CRIMINALjustice System. APhD will be an added advantage.
Candidates must be able to teach courses which include: Criminal law, Law of Evidence and Criminology.



4.3.2 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor• (French Language) 1 Post


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a Masters Degree in French Language or any other relevant post graduate study related to this specialized area. Candidates should also possess speaking, reading and writing competences in the French Language and must have at least three years teaching experience at a tertiary institution or five years practical everyday use of the French language through speaking, listening, reading and writing in economical, social, cultural spheres. A PhD will be an added advantage.

4.3.3 Teaching Assistants - Financial Intelligence (2 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a first degree in Financial Intelligence or Investigative Psychology with at least a 2.1 class. Applicants will be expected to register for a Masters Degree study in related areas of specialization.
The eligible candidates should be able to:
Assist with tutorials in a cross section of courses in the Financial Intelligence courses, playa role in supervising continuous learning and assessment, partake in outreach programmes and supervision of students on field trips.


4.2.4 Teaching Assistants  - Police and Security Studies (1 Post)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a Law or Police Studies related Degree with at least a 2.1 class. Applicants will be expected to register for a Masters Degree study in related areas of specialization.
The eligible candidate should be able to:

4.3 Department of Accountancy


4.3.1 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor - (3 Posts)


Qualifications

Candidates must be holders of a first degree in Accountancy and a Masters' Degree in Accountancy. Possession of a professional qualification in Accountancy such as CIS, ACCA, CIMA and ICAZ is an added advantage. The successful candidate should be able to teach at least two of the following courses: Public Sector Accounting, Taxation, Tax Planning, Cost and Management Accounting, Advanced Auditing, Financial management and Financial Accounting 3.


5. RESEARCH AND POST GRADUATE CENTRE


5.1 Chief Research Officer (1 Post)


Qualifications

Applicants must hold a minimum of MSc or MA. A PhD/ DPhii will be an added advantage. The successful candidate must be capable of implementing the vision and mission of the Research and Postgraduate Centre, must be a notable Scholar with a good track record in research activities, and must be a dynamic and trans-disciplinary individual. He/She must have excellent management, verbal and written communication skills and have credibility among his/her peers.


The Chief Research Officer will be responsible for:

Pre-award grant administration which includes assisting investigators with research grant proposal development, planning and editing grant applications, reviewing proposal for scientific merit and institutional risk, and identifying funding for proposed research, post award research grant administration, which includes monitoring expenditure and compliance with institutional and sponsor financial policies, maintaining updated proposals database, identifying and establishing links with external research institutions, industry, government institutions and the community for collaborative engagement, assisting in harnessing' of research innovation and creativity and facilitating BUSE participation in internal and external exhibitions, assisting in the commercialization of research outputs including patenting, trademarks and copyrights of outputs developed by staff and students and any other duties designated by the Director.



5.2 Administrative Assistant (1 Post)


Applicants must have a minimum of a first degree from a recognized institution, one year Post qualification experience, an administrative qualification and working knowledge of University structures. Computer literacy is a must especially working with databases.
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
Providing administrative, fiscal and personal support for the Director to ensure completion of tasks, compiling, categorizing, calculating, auditing, verifying, or processing information or data on research activities to make summaries for decision making, planning and co-ordinating seminar activities, reading and responding to correspondences, interpreting administrative and operational procedures for researchers, developing documents for presentation or meetings, maintaining an updated database system, monitoring and recording expenditure by individual researchers and providing periodic updates to the Director, planning and scheduling Research and Post Graduate Centre meetings, making travel arrangements for the Director and managing the Calendar and any other duties designated by the Director.


6. LIBRARY DEPARTMENT


6.1 Sub Librarian (1 Post)


Qualifications:

Applicants must be in possession of a Master's Degree in Library Science plus three years of progressively responsible library administration experience in the technical srvices department of an academic library.
Knowledge of current and emerging cataloguing standards, experience in cataloguing various formats of information and the ability to investigate, integrate and manage a variety of library technologies are the required attributes for this position.


7. DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS


7.1 Cooks (4 Posts)


Qualifications:

The applicants must have a minimum of 5 "0" Levels including English language. A professional Certificate/Diploma in Hotel and Catering Studies or its equivalent (HEXCO certified).
Duties:
An all-rounder cook who can skillfully and economically prepare and timely present quality food, protect food and equipment from abuse and perform all duties in line with catering services as assigned by management.


8. REGISTRY DEPARTMENT


8.1 Services Manager (1 Post)


Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Masters in an administrative field or equivalent plus a minimum of five years post qualification administrative experience in a Higher Education environment. The ideal candidate should be an aesthetic person, highly creative, and be prepared to occasionally operate beyond the normal office hours and be able to work with minimum supervision. A Driver's Licence is a must.

Duties:

Be responsible for the general aesthetic of the University, supervision of services staff and ensuring that highest levels of cleanliness are maintained at all University campuses, co-ordinating the maintenance of University buildings, needs identification of communal furniture, equipment and its use, co-ordinating the use and hiring of University facilities, management of bills for all University properties, management of the University Reprographic Unit, servicing of University Committees and any other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor through the Registrar.
