Vacancy: Gender Centre Coordinator
Women’s University in Africa.
Faculty: Social Sciences and Gender Development Studies
Key responsibilities
- Assume the full responsibilities of a Departmental Chairperson as specified in the University Ordinances
- Provide Overall Management of the above mentioned programmes
- Provide academic leadership in the development, teaching, learning and research for the above mentioned programmes
- Coordinate ongoing consultations with stakeholders to ensure programmes are responsive to needs and remains relevant, in line with University policies
- Teach two courses per semester and supervise in their research projects
- Publish at least two articles in peer reviewed and academic practitioner articles per year
- Present at least one conference paper per year
Programme to be coordinated: Women and Gender Studies, Social Work, Education and Development Studies
Qualifications and experience
- At least a Masters degree in any Social Sciences field. Possession of a relevant PhD degree will be a distinct advantage
- Relevant university teaching experience
- Experience in working with development agencies
- Be of mature disposition
