Vacancy: Behavioral Change Programme Support Officer
The Zimbabwe AIDS Prevention Project, Department of Community Medicine, University of Zimbabwe project has funding to implement and monitor the National Behavioral change Strategy in Masvingo Province.
We are therefore looking for candidates to fill in the following position:
Behavioral Change Programme Support Officer (Based in Masvingo)
The Behavioral Change (BC) Program Support Officer will report to the District Behavioral Change Programme Officer. In fulfillment of her/his duties, the District BC Programme Support Officer will work closely with the District BC Officer, supporting the Officer to effectively manage the programme related to the implementation and monitoring of the National Behavioral Change (BC) Strategy in Masvingo Province.
The Behavioral Change Programme Support Officer will
- Provide necessary assistance to the Programme Officer in the dissemination of the national BC strategy in the district through a dissemination meeting involving all relevant stakeholders and leaders
- Advocate with traditional, religious, administrative and other leaders in the district on issues of behavioral change promotion
- Provide technical and administrative support to the setting up of a district behavioral change forum
- Co-facilitate, in close collaboration with the District BC Officer the development of a district behavioral change action plan in all wards
- Participate in quarterly advocacy and support visits to all wards in the districts at least on a monthly basis
- Oversee the volunteers’ behavioral change promotion activities
- Co-facilitate in district level trainings of traditional and religious leaders as well as different types of volunteers
- Coordinate the District Office’s meetings and workshops
- Make payments for specific programme costs under the guidance of the Provincial Finance Officer
- Assist the District BC Programme to maintain financial and programme records as per NAC-DONOR financial, accounting and programme rules, regulations and policies and ensure compliance
- Assist in the compilation of district quarterly progress reports.

Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Public Health or equivalent
- Experience in HIV and AIDS programming, Public Health or Health Promotion
- Sound knowledge and understanding of latest developments in the area of HIV prevention programming
- Experience in multi-sectoral development approaches
- Experience and ability to interact with district leadership
- Class four valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of basic accounting and administration
